The 1st Annual Canstruction Madison event ranks #15 among all Canstruction events internationally between May, 2011 and April, 2012. This honor is thanks to 19 dedicated and creative teams that participated in the competition May, 2011. Nearly 40,000 pounds of food from the event was donated to the Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM) Food Pantry. Local businesses, architects, engineers, and students from around the Madison and Middleton area created enormous structures ranging from a castle, to a giant pirate ship, complete with a pirate handing out little gold coins to children at the event.
Canstruction Madison is a Competition to End Hunger where teams build incredible, highly imaginative structures out of canned goods and packaged items that teams have either collected or purchased.
The 2nd Annual Canstruction Madison event, held May, 2012, included 24 structures made of canned goods and packaged items, totaling 29 tons of food donated to the MOM Food Pantry. This event will be ranked during the May 2012 – April 2013 international competition. The 3rd Annual event will be held in May of 2013.
